Background

Ben is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago. He initially specialized in History at the University of Toronto and has worked as an Adjunct Instructor at National Louis University since 2020, teaching courses such as Civics & American Government and History Across the Globe. Outside of the classroom, Ben served as Foreign Editor for the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York before returning to school to complete a Committee on International Relations (CIR) MA from 2023-2024.

Research

Ben's research analyzes the impact and evolution of language and framing, with a focus on the relationship between framing and public opinion. He is especially interested in pursuing research on international students as part of the COE Fellowship, including the factors behind academic migration at the graduate level and distinctions in Americans' perceptions of international students over time.
