Marine is a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology working with Susan Goldin-Meadow and Marc Berman. She received her MPhil in Experimental Psychology from University College London, UK and her B.A. in Linguistics from Wuhan University, China.
Marine’s research explores children’s mathematical learning through gesture, speech, and social interaction. She is especially interested in how meaningful gestures support children’s understanding of abstract mathematical concepts. More broadly, her work aims to understand how teaching practices can promote conceptual learning in educational contexts. She uses behavioral methods, neuroimaging, and AI-based computational approaches.
